The Choir

The Immanuel Choir strives to fulfill it’s primary role in the liturgy by providing leadership and support to the congregation in the songs of the people and in good unison reading – and to serve as a model and teacher for the congregation in good liturgical and worship habits.

The Choir also serves and is open to anyone who wishes to sing or learn how to sing. We regularly gather on the last Sunday of the month, and on major feast days, like Easter and Christmas. A quick rehearse is held on those Sundays at 9:00am in the choir loft before worship, then sing for the service. The repertoire a mix of very easy new (and old) hymns and anthems.

If you’d also like to learn how to read music, then joining the choir is one good way to learn. There are no auditions. All one needs is simply a desire to sing. If you’d like to become a member, please contact our Music Director, Mr. Terry O’Connor at terry@immanuel-alameda.org.
